Charles Weeks came to the Winnetka area in 1920 at the request of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce with an assignment to set up a clutch of one-acre egg farms. The "poultry colony" he founded grew into a small agricultural center and in 1922 was incorporated as the town of Wiinnetka, named for Weeks' hometown in Illinois. That's eggs-actly how it happened, to coin a pun.

Today, it is a diverse community, largely Hispanic and Asian, and a neighborhood in the west-central San Fernando Valley and within the Los Angeles County boundaries.

The town played a critical role in the war between Mexico and the United States. In 1846, the Mexican rancho owners sold the Winnetka property to help fund their war. A Spanish native, Eulogio de Celes, bought the ranch, which had once been the Mission de San Fernando, for $14,000. His purchase included what eventually became the towns of Winnetka, Canoga Park and Woodland Hills.

The pressures of increasing settlement and the arrival of the railroad broke up the huge parcel of land over time and the towns went their separate ways. Construction of an aqueduct in 1913 solved the area's water problems and opened it up to development.

In Winnetka today, there is every amenity that modern living offers, including a group of traveling notaries who provide services to the community whenever and wherever the client prefers. They are fully trained in all the various ways in which notarization is used today to authenticate and put an official seal on important personal documents. Have a new will? Got that covered. Buying or selling a property? A cinch. These and many more of the documents that protect your life and property are fair game for these mobile notaries. Any need you have can be taken care of with a single phone call to set up an appointment at your convenience.

It's all part of living in this community that now boasts some 50,000 residents. Bits of the past pop up in strange ways here. You can get your vehicle's oil changed at MJ's Auto Repair while basking in the shadow of the 75-foot tall Queen Ann construction pieced together from the parts of demolished Victorian-era houses. Part of the pieces will be recognized as flotsam and jetsam from the Little Sisters of the Poor rest home. Scavenged windows, staircases and balustrades came from other old local buildings. The conglomerateo office building is the work of Dennis Platt, a resident carpenter who spent years collecting the bits and pieces he put together to make his masterpiece.

The Mobile Notaries are in the Winnetka including 91303, 91306 and 91396. The Mobile notary will quickly come to you both day and night right to your place!
